About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Python/Django Developer Intern to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on learning role where you will work on real-world web applications, build REST APIs, and contribute to database design under the guidance of senior developers. You will gain practical experience in backend development, version control, and deployment workflows. Ideal for someone who has completed basic Django projects and wants to deepen their skills in a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server-side logic using Python and Django.
- Build RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF).
- Write reusable, testable, and efficient code.
- Work with PostgreSQL/MySQL databases and ORM queries.
- Debug and resolve technical issues in existing applications.
- Collaborate with frontend developers on API integration.
- Participate in code reviews and team stand-ups.
- Document code and technical processes.
Requirements
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python (loops, functions, OOP).
- Understanding of Django or Django REST Framework (completed at least one personal or academic project).
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (basic level).
- Knowledge of Git/GitHub for version control.
- Understanding of relational databases (SQLite, PostgreSQL, or MySQL).
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Currently pursuing or completed a degree in CS, IT, or related field.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of Docker.
- Exposure to deployment (Heroku, AWS, or PythonAnywhere).
- Understanding of JWT or OAuth authentication.
- Contribution to open-source Django projects.
